"I was given these flowers and immediately felt compelled to draw them. Their rich colour and delicate shapes caught my attention, and I wanted to preserve that moment of beauty in a way that could be enjoyed long after the flowers themselves had faded.
As I worked on the piece, I set myself a challenge to create as much depth and detail as possible using predominantly a single coloured pencil. Focusing on light, shadow and subtle layers made me appreciate just how much can be achieved with a limited palette, and the result quickly became one of my favourite artworks."
