"The Tūī has always been my favourite New Zealand bird. There's something incredibly wise and almost mystical about them. Their iridescent feathers seem to change with the light, and despite their playful personalities, they have a quiet confidence that I find deeply inspiring.
When creating this painting, I kept coming back to the idea of emergence - not just appearing, but becoming. The flowers and foliage represent growth and the experiences that shape us, while the Tūī rises from them as a symbol of finding your voice and embracing who you are.
